Bossa Nova and Latin Jazz

Made famous by guitarist-vocalist João Gilberto and composer Antônio Carlos Jobim, the Bossa Nova ("the new beat") is a musical style that developed in Brazil in the late 50's. The lyrics speak of an easy lifestyle; love, the beach, beautiful women. The music reflects this ease with flowing melodies, beautiful jazz voicings and syncopated rhythms. Other Latin Jazz styles include: samba, cumbia, rumba, mambo, cha-cha-chá, bolero, merengue and more !!!

The Bossa Nova and most of these styles can be performed with many different Ace Of Hearts instrumentations. A Solo Guitarist can create the Bossa feel for intimate settings, or in combination with Flute or Violin. An instrumental Jazz Trio, playing latin music can set the mood for cocktails and dinner and a Jazz Quartet can play all the styles for dancing! Add vocals to any combination for a truly wonderful atmosphere.
