November is the month to give THANKS but
it's never more true than this month.
With the arrival
of Hurricane Sandy, we give thanks for all we have
and, with our families and friends together, we stand strong
against adversity. We show our thanks for being safe and
secure by helping those who need a hand as they get back
on their feet (see the Charity Site of the Month.
It is, of course, The
American Red Cross!)
We anticipate the Holidays and the joy
they bring as we get to celebrate with those who mean the
most to us.
As November is also election month,
we give thanks that we are a free nation; Free to
exercise our will and choose who will govern us (Congradulations
to President Barak Obama on your re-election!).
This is a time of new beginnings; There is a crispness
in the air and an excitement of things to come.

A hidden gem in the South Bay area - the Cabrillo
Beach Yacht Club (CBYC) is tucked away on the lee (warm side) of the Palos
Verdes Peninsula and overlooks the Los
Angeles Harbor. The CBYC and Marina is in the most pleasant micro-climate in the area where cooler ocean breezes can be felt as the view of the blue waters of the pacific and gleam white masts of the sailing ships surround you.
The CBYC is a private members-only Club, but the Club
Dining Room and Terrace, which overlook the Marina are available to rent to non-members for special events and occasions. It provides the perfect combination of indoor/outdoor access for your next event.

ACE OF HEARTS ENTERTAINMENT at SANTA MONICA PLACE
Join in the festivities as Santa makes his grand arrival with Mrs.
Claus. This magical night will be begin as Santa temporarily abandon's his sleigh to make his way down the Third
Street Promenade in a vintage fire truck.
Believers of all ages can follow along as Santa is escorted
by mounted horse patrol from the Santa
Monica Police Department, cirque-style acrobats, trumpeters and
our very own ACE OF HEARTS DICKENS CAROLERS.
The procession down Third Street will begin at 5:30
p.m. at Wilshire Boulevard and will make a grand
entrance at Santa
Monica Place just before the Tree
Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m.
In addition to local dignitaries, the Tree
Lighting Ceremony will feature entertainment and appearances by Santa and Mrs.
Claus, awe-inspiring acrobats, Herald Trumpeters and the ACE
OF HEARTS DICKENS CAROLERS. There will also be performances by season 8
American Idol contestant Ann Marie Boskovich and the Cimorelli
Group, six singing sisters ages 12 to 21 whose YouTube channel introduced them to the world.
Santa will be available for visits and photos starting Sunday,
November 18 at 11 a.m. Pre-purchase your photo
